Anyway, Pat Johnson is a Story Teller, something I have become very interested in. In fact, I'm looking to take a course this summer. One of the stories she loves to tell is Heckedy Peg which is also an amazing picture book. In doing my fact checking, I found that Heather Newman who coincidentally also lives in Maine, already reviewed this book for Perfect Picture Book Friday with Susanna Hill. But, I couldn't stop putting it on my blog, so I hope she forgives me for linking the book image directly to her review. So, go ahead, click on the book image and see what she had to say about this fantastic book!
Perfect Picture Book Fridays is a great meme brought to you by Susanna Hill.

I don't mind if you want to do your own review Kimberley :) I'm not nealy so concerned about that as I was in the beginning when we only had a few books. Now that we're over 1000 it's not a problem to have a few repeats :) BTW, the link goes to my blog, not Heather's, if that was what you meant it to do...
ReplyDeleteI thought I had read every Audrey and Don book! I have to admit I haven't seen this one, but it reminds me of King Bidgood's in the Bathtub . . . Which I LOVE!

Storytellers are amazing. We have had some come to my school over the years and they held me mesmerized along with the kids. I bet you'll be good at it.

I also love King Bidgood, and I've seen this one but it's been a long time. I need to get my hands on a copy again.

I've read heckedy peg to my class for years now! It's so much fun to ham up while you read it. Great choice.

Took on look at the cover and knew it was an Audrey Wood book -- among my favorites. This is a fun book!
